In the evening of October 20, the Foundation hosted our inaugural Chairman's Circle Lecture. After welcoming remarks from Foundation President and CEO Terry Pursell, our Board Chair Samuel Elfassy spoke to guests about the importance of learning about the Hospital's innovative practices and advances in providing the best care to our patients. He then introduced Dr. Thomas Ungar, who shared his insights as Chief of Psychiatry and Medical Director of our Hospital's Mental Health Program.
We were delighted to welcome more than 70 of our top donors and supporters to this interactive and dynamic presentation, which granted guests an inside perspective of how North York General Hospital is prioritizing mental health issues in our community. Audience members had the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback to Dr. Ungar as he took them through a simulated psychiatric patient assessment, something that most members of the community rarely witness or understand.
Mental health issues are impacting a growing number of patients at North York General. The Foundation will continue to update our supporters about the Hospital's initiatives to address this critical need in our community, and how the Foundation is supporting these priorities.
